The Artwork of Darin Overholser uncovers the humor in being human. His paintings have been seen on Comedy Central, Comedy Clubs and various publications. He worked with illustrator CF Payne for a few years while he honed his painting skills.
After graduating from the Art Academy of Cincinnati in 2001, Overholser took his pages of jokes and ideas to the stage. As a stand up comic, Darin has performed in Mid West comedy clubs and opened for such Comics as Dave Chappelle, Louis CK, Emo Phillips and the Late Mitch Hedberg.
As he hung around comedians and smokey comedy clubs, Darin figured out different ways to market his art to the comedy world. Crank Yanker's Jim Florentine commissioned him to illustrate the cover of his cd, "Get Your Kids Out of the Room."
Pat Dixon's had Darin design the backdrop for his 30 minute comedy central special,"Comedy Central Presents: Pat Dixon." Stephen Colbert has also been seen posing in front of an Overholser original on "The Colbert Report."
He is the only comedian with two comedy central credits...none actually being for his comedy!
His artwork currently hangs on the walls of Go Bananas Comedy Club in Montgomery, Ohio.
In 2004, Darin teamed up with his long time friend Dirk Gadd to create a board game for Deer Hunters. Whitetailopoly is designed after the classic board game, but with Deer Hunters in mind. It is currently sold in Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas and many other hunting retailers.
In July 2006, Darin and Fellow Cincinnati Comedian Josh Sneed found another way to blend Art and Comedy. They collaborated to form www.lookatmeshirts.com. Their designs are sure to bring smiles to your face. After only a year online, they have opened their own screen printing business. The Route 8 Wearhouse doubles as a custom tshirt manufacturer as well as Look At Me Shirts Boutique in Dayton, Kentucky. What better place to put a tshirt shop, than a town where people don't even wear shirts!
Darin currently lives in Taylor Mill with his fantastically swell wife Crystal and their dog Butters.
